Caitlyn Jenner’s brand new E! reality show, I Am Cait, debuted on Sunday night (8pm EST).

On the first episode, the E! star received powerful words of wisdom from son-in-law Kanye and stepdaughter Kim Kardashian West. Kanye shared with Caitlyn, “I think this is one of the strongest things that have happened in our existence as human beings that are so controlled by perception…because you couldn’t have been up against more…your daughter is a super model, we are celebrities, and you were still like ‘f*** everybody, this is who I am.’”

In Caitlyn’s 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer, she shared that Kanye helped Kim accept her reintroduction tot he world as Caitlyn: “He says to Kim, ‘Look, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful daughter in the world, and I have that,’” Caitlyn, 65, said of the rapper. “ ‘But I’m nothing if I can’t be me. If I can’t be true to myself, it doesn’t mean anything.’”

The eight-part docuseries follows not just Caitlyn’s personal journey to self-acceptance, but explores the issues befalling all trans people in a world that doesn’t always understand.

  1. Thought show was going to show Jenner’s journey to changing but was more about looks/clothing. Would like more about the physical/psychological adjustments. Best moment was with honesty of Jenner’s mother. Kyane West’s behavior showed how difficult it is for the family to adjust. He looked out of place but supportive of Kim. This can not be easy for the family.Thought show was going to show Jenner’s journey to changing but was more about looks/clothing. Would like more about the physical/psychological adjustments.
